Welcome to Year 6 at Tipton Green Junior School. This year we have only three classes of approximately 30 children each.

The year 6 staff this year are Mrs Favata - 6DF, Miss Susch - 6SS and Mr Messenger - 6RM.

In year 6 we cover the three core subjects of Literacy, Numeracy, Science as well as ICT and the foundation subjects which are themed as far as possible.

We encourage children to complete regular pieces of homework as well a regular reading practice at home. By year 6 they should be familiar with all the multiplication tables up to 10 X 10 as these form the basis for a lot of the work completed in numeracy.

On Thursday mornings and Friday afternoons all children in Year 6 take part in P.E. therefore, it is imperative that they have appropriate kit in school for this. It is a legal requirement that all children take part in P.E. activities unless there is a medical reason preventing this. They should also be discouraged from wearing any jewellery on days when they participate in P.E.
